The feature film Being Michael Madsen, starring Mr. Madsen , Doug Tompos, and Jason Alan Smith, (with appearances by Virginia Madsen, Darryl Hannah, David Carradine and others) will be the Opening Night Selection for the prestigious Dances With Films Festival in Hollywood, Thursday, June 4th, 2009 at 9:15 pm. The screening will be at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theatres on Sunset at Crescent Heights. This film has been shown in festivals around the world and is about to be released domestically. Last Fall, Doug starred in the one-man show R. Buckminster Fuller: The History (and Mystery) of the Universe, written and directed by D.W. Jacobs, at Portland Center Stage. Doug just finished touring in his own one-man show Bent to the Flame - A NIght with Tennessee Williams, performing first in Los Angeles, then taking the show to the "Tennessee Willliams LIterary Festival" in New Orleans in late March, and in April on to the Cascades Theatrical Company in Oregon. The New Orleans Times-Picayune called the show "Magnificent" and "A pitch-perfect portrayal". Doug is in negotiations with the "Tennessee Williams Festival" in Provincetown to bring the show there in 2010.
